past vs the future. Its you vs you.

Past, present and future.

In the past where you strong and happy?

how about currently? are you where you want to be?

Are you the person you want to be?

When was the last time you looked into a mirror and felt proud at what you saw?

How do you see yourself?

Go take a look in a mirror right now and write down what you see, feel and think. Spend a good 5-10 minutes just staring at at your reflection.

Write down everything, the way you feel when you see yourself, what you like and what you don’t. Keep writing until you run out.

What did you see while you stood there gazing into your reflection?

Did you see a man of strength and discipline, worthy of the respect of others?

In his eyes did you see hunger? did you see drive? Did you see a man willing to put it all on the line for a chance at his dreams?

Or did you see something else? something that you couldn’t quite put your finger on, something familiar.

A ghost perhaps?

The eyes that you see each and everyday when you punch a time clock, gossip with your co workers, the eyes of normal everyday people.

The mirror will tell you no lies and reveals all.

Nothing but the cold hard truth in more ways than what you see on the surface.

You can lie to everyone, but you can’t lie to yourself.

If you are strong or weak you will see it.

If you are confident or if doubt yourself you will see it.

It will show your happiness or it will show your sorrow.

Your reflection will reveal exactly who you are.

You could just as easily ignore what you think and feel and go about your life in the comfort of denial.

Deep down you will wish you paid’d attention.

If you lack strength, if you lack pride and if your not happy, now is the time to change.

As they say the best time to do anything was 5 years ago the second best time is right now.

You are capable of great strength and discipline, everything you will need is right in front of you. In truth it’s always been there, like most you have been blind to it, but now you know better don’t you?

That guy in the mirror is your biggest enemy and your greatest ally. He is the past you.

That guy was lazy and wasted his time on useless shit. He watched TV and played video games all day long. He ate shit and didn’t look after himself

That guy was just another cog in the machine, not happy not sad just existing. Just like a ghost, running through the motions.

He lacked direction and motivation, he was “content” in his complacency.

He was average at best.

Fuck Average.

The time of being average is over.

The enemy is Average

Average is a disease that most people willing accept into their lives, not knowing any other way.

Excellence on the other hand is something few want and even fewer understand.

Next time your in public look around and you’ll see what the average is.

I can understand it, average is easy. Average is safety.

Everyone will like you, because you will all be the same.

Average people don’t have to deal with the hardships of the gym, they don’t see the point.

Why go through the years of blood, sweat and pain in order to forge strength when you can relaxing at home.

it’s not like there is any advantage to being a lean mean ass kicking machine.

There are upsides to being average of course.

You can eat fast food and watch netflix’s to your hearts content. You have all the time in the world… until you need to get up for work in the morning that is.

It’s fine to work a 9-5 everyone else does it so why not you.

There is no risk, you have a steady paycheck and you get to spend all your time and energy making money for your boss. 🙂

it’s not like you might get fired tomorrow for not jumping through the many hoops employers expect of their employees.

if you have a job make it work for you and not the other way around.

I’ll use myself as an example.

When i decided to make a change, i cut back my hours i worked so i had just enough money to get by and pay for the necessities.

I make enough to cover living and thats it. That means no more take out, no more going out on weekends with friends.

Yes times will be tough and sometimes money will be scarce. You will have to forgo everyday luxuries if you want to make ends meet.

Bills, food and gym thats it, nothing more. Anything spared should be saved for the curve balls that will eventually come your way.

Remember tough times breed tough people.

Your ancestors managed and so will you.

Less is more

There are advantages that come with having less.

Less work means more time and energy to pursue other things.

More hours in the gym, more hours to work on your mission.

Less money will teach you many things, how to budget and to work with what you’ve got.

When your not working you should be working, get my drift.

Arnold Schwarzenegger said that there is 24 hours in a day you work for 8, you sleep for 8 what are you doing with the rest of your time?

He couldn’t be more right.

The greatest men and women throughout history understood this.

I am always reminded of what 50 cent said when a journalist asked him when does he sleep, he replied

“Sleep, sleep is for those people who are broke. I don’t sleep, I might miss the opportunity to make a dream become a reality.”

50 knew it, Arnie knew it and now you do too.

I don’t just want to get by.

Why survive when you can thrive.

In order to thrive you’ve gotta work for it.

When your not at your job you should be working your ass off in one way or another.

If need be you’ll work into the night and run on 4 hours of sleep.

If you want it bad enough you’ll do what it takes, everything else is noise.

Just remember it takes a lot of work but the work shouldn’t be hard, if anything it should be easy.

If you choose the right path there should be no sacrifice, you will not need to find motivation to work on your business.

Motivation is only needed for things that we dislike doing.

It takes motivation to go to work, it takes motivation to mow the lawns, it takes motivation to do what we hate.

It takes no Motivation to do what you love.

Find your way

You’ve got to develop your purpose.

Your mission, goal, quest. Whatever you call it.

Your purpose is key in everything you do.

Without it your lost, wandering aimlessly through life.

Look around, most people dont know what they want and the ones that do have either given up or were too afraid.

The few who do succeed, do so because they new their mission and didn’t stop.

So how do you find it you ask.

well that all comes down to you.

Some people know from a young age what they want most, for others it takes time and some soul searching before they come to a conclusion.

Ask yourself questions like “if you could do anything what would it be? what do you enjoy? how could i make money from what i know and love?

Only you can work out your purpose, but once you find it you’ll know.

All of a sudden something will click.

You’ll feel fire in your belly, your purpose will become clear and become an obsession before long. Soon you won’t be able to stop thinking about it.

You’ll be thinking about it at work, at school, when your out on a date. That’s what it takes to make it to the top.

You will feel a drive, an unrelenting need to work like never before. You don’t need motivation when you have obsession.

No matter how far away your goal may be just remember whether you succeed or not is entirely up to you.

It’s all on you and no one else.

The only thing that can stop you is an act of god.

So just remember that guy you saw in the mirror, he’s your past and if you don’t take action now he may well become your future.

No more Mr. Mediocrity and no more Mr.Average its time to lock them away and throw away the key.

It’s your future boys, how will your story play out?

Will you emerge victorious or be buried by your regret?
